Review on πŸ’» Plugable AB Switch - USB 3.0 Sharing Switch for Instant One-Button USB Device or Hub Swapping Between Two Computers by Billy Stull

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent USB switch, suitable for external components

I've tried several other USB switches and none of them was connected to my 2 monitors (which have HDMI and via a plug-in Dock connected) connected ). I thought this one made by the same company would be much better. Only the switch is ok. Took me about 30 minutes to get it working. I had to plug the dock directly into the first company and wait for the monitors to recognize it (never a problem) and then plug it back into the switch. I repeated this on a second machine and everything works fine on both now as long as I don't switch too quickly and disable anything. I would recommend running the cables first rather than just plugging them in to see if it works. Mine worked fine during testing, but as soon as I unplugged it to route the cables, it stopped working and I had to do the troubleshooting mentioned above. All in all, this is a good switch because it really works. Looks like they should probably make a programmatic button compatible with their hubs to get rid of this problem.

Pros
  • Makes you feel good
Cons
  • Too long to wait
