SIMPLE DEVICE SHARING - Compact design provides easy one-touch switching of a USB 3.0 device or hub between two computers. ONE BUTTON TOGGLE - Attach a USB docking station or powered USB hub that is connected to keyboard, mouse, and USB graphics adapter for an all-USB KVM solution. PLUG AND PLAY - Switch works with any USB-enabled computer without drivers, but note that any attached devices still require drivers. LED indicator lights show which connected computer has control of the attached devices. Excellent USB 3.0 Sharing Switch

When my grandson comes to our house, I built a computer cart/table on wheels for general computing and gaming. He is a fan of Minecraft and Roblox!. There are two computers in the car: the latest PC with a fast Intel i5 processor and a Mac Mini. I used a keyboard and mouse combo with a unified USB receiver dongle. I needed an easy and no fuss way to switch keyboard/mouse between two computers and this product did the job perfectly. Switching between PC and Mac Mini is easy with the two included

Shuts down and freezes both laptops

Update: 1st Sep 18. Tried another USB 3.0 switch (different brand) and ended up with the same hang/shutdown issues. Finally I replaced the Targus dock with a USB 3.0 plug-in and everything works as it should. No more trouble. I assume the Targus station is sensitive to EVERY USB 3.0 switch (but worked fine with a 2.0 switch!) (monitor, BT keyboard/mouse, speakers and USB flash drive) and a plugable after all 2.0 USB switch. No problem. I switched to the Plugable USB 3.0 switch and both…

  • New to my collection

  • A long time ago

I bought this to easily connect my work computer's monitor, mouse, keyboard, ethernet and speakers to my personal laptop share that I brought from home. There is certain software that I run on my laptop but not on my desktop, and sometimes I need to take it with me, but I find it inconvenient to plug in a bunch of different peripherals every time. It turned out to be a great decision! A NOTICE. If you want that, you should also have a pluggable USB 3 dock, which I also bought. Between two…

Great convenience for the price, few features

I used to swap the Skiva OctoFire hub between desktop and laptop when I got home from work. I bought a Plugable USB 3.0 Sharing Switch to alleviate this hassle. The desktop is powered even when it is off. This means that the plug-in switch can always be switched on, even if both machines are switched off. Notebook (Dell) requires you to initiate the boot process before pressing any key on the connected device. Not perfect, but manageable. Definitely better than swapping cables. In general, both

Decent USB switch, suitable for external components

I've tried several other USB switches and none of them was connected to my 2 monitors (which have HDMI and via a plug-in Dock connected) connected ). I thought this one made by the same company would be much better. Only the switch is ok. Took me about 30 minutes to get it working. I had to plug the dock directly into the first company and wait for the monitors to recognize it (never a problem) and then plug it back into the switch. I repeated this on a second machine and everything works fine…

Pros
  • Makes you feel good
Cons
  • Too long to wait

The top of the case can be snapped off (4 clips on both short ends). The circuit board is not attached to the case and can be easily removed. Built-in snap-action switches short the control line to ground to activate a specific USB port. These control lines are pulled up to about +4.8 VDC. However, the USB switch function is only activated with a rising edge (e.g. when switching from ground to open). Also, the alternate control line must remain high for the other line to activate. When…

Great when it works, mine is picky

Blue light keeps you from getting lost, but shit if you're sleeping in the same room with him, black tape comes to the rescue. Both MacBook and PC have issues with the light not switching to the other side even though the mouse and keyboard are active on the other computer (I connected a USB 3.0 hub). Also, sometimes I have to repeat twice to get another computer to recognize devices, but that's a minor inconvenience. Especially compared to the 4 I/O port shifter I had where there were 4 slots…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • No instructions

This is a good USB switch

Minor update: dim LEDs. At first they were bright and visible, but after a few months it became a bit difficult to know which exit was chosen. The USB pluggable switch is exactly what I needed and it works without any issues. The device is bus-powered, so it does not require an external power supply. As long as one side of the device is connected to the computer, it will work normally. Basically, it's a single-port USB hub that lets you switch between two computers with the push of a button. I…

Decent USB3 switch. Slightly modified to have a remote control.

Pretty decent USB3 switch. No problems with the USB3 switching function itself. The selected system recognizes connected devices perfectly, while the non-selected system just behaves as if the devices are disconnected. I only wish this switch had a remote control that came with it. It's very inconvenient to have this switch on your desk with all the cables, as the two system ports are on the back and the device port is on the front. especially when the 2 cables going to the systems are only 3…
