The item arrived in perfect condition, VERY well packaged and protected. It was easy to use out of the box. I followed the instructions that came with it to charge it first and then try it out. While it doesn't have all the out-of-the-box features of competing high-end vacuums (you have to plug it in to charge and empty it when you're done), it works well, especially considering how much cheaper this vacuum is compared to others . I watched it run for over two hours to see how it would work the first time. If he gently bumps into furniture, shoes, dog toys, walls, etc., he will step back a little and then try to move wherever he bumps. As I watched him do it, I noticed him clinging to the walls and moving efficiently through the rooms. It's a little random in open spaces, but seems to offer good coverage. We bought this to help with dog hair (we have a German shepherd/shepherd. We could sweep up extra dog hair on a weekly basis). The floors had just been swept and mopped by a professional cleaner when we tested this vacuum for the first time. I have to say I was very surprised to see that he still finds enough hair, lint, dust and dirt to fill the inner basket after one session. It worked better than I expected. However, note a few minor things: 1) The instructions show different instructions for the battery. It came already assembled with a permanent battery. We didn't have to assemble anything for the battery. 2) If you have a medium pile carpet on a hard surface like tile, if the vacuum rolls at an angle over the edge it can get stuck there (both motorized wheels are floating in the air). This isn't usually the case, but it can happen. Same goes for stairs - this is a specially designed feature to prevent falling off stairs (I tested it on stairs and it worked as intended). The collection container is small and must be emptied after each use. As he passed under the dining table with 6 chairs it was a little weird watching him slowly crawl out from under the 28 legs of the furniture, but he made his way around things and eventually found his way out. I would say this is exactly what we need (eliminates dog hair headaches) at a reasonable price. It also came with 2 extra canister filters and extra brushes. We don't have negative feedback!
