These products have now survived a wet, Pacific NW winter mounted on the outside of my house with flying colors. For the price (about $25 for 4) this is one of those "how do they build it for that price" products.They are completely self contained, mount with a single screw (I substituted stainless steel screws that I had on hand), and weigh only a few ounces each. In two areas, I mounted them about 10' above a walkway and they work just fine. Infrared sensors work great, solar panel is adequate, even for our overcast, short winter days and the light will come on in two phases and stay on as long as there is motion, or for about a minute if there is no motion. Our 22 pound dog will trigger all of them, even the ones mounted up high.I wouldn't hesitate to buy more, if the need arises.
