Use causes wrist pain

This is a very strong, durable plastic. The problem is that positioning the handle on the far edge causes an impulse shoulder effect to be transmitted to the user's wrist. Wrist wraps don't help either - using them under any load creates terrible stress on the wrist, leading to fatigue and constant pain. Nice and strong yes, but as an engineer I can say they are very poorly designed in terms of mechanical advantages. Rather than just complaining about this, I suggest the manufacturer move the grip bar to mid-grip and place the wrist rest so it sits over the forearm, closer to the elbow. This would put the mechanical pivot in a better position and give the user the benefit of a longer torque arm instead of fighting it.
