I have a SONOS Connect:AMP that I'd like to hook up to a 1990's Sony stereo receiver because I'm stupid. This is a bit wasteful because SONOS Connect:AMP has a built in amplifier and instead of a line out it has a speaker out. Instead, I have to buy a SONOS connector to connect to my stereo, but it's expensive and hard to find, and I already have Connect:AMP. So this little key does the magic for me. On the SONOS side, it connects to the speaker jacks. Then it connects to the TAPE line-in on the stereo side and everything works! This probably wastes a lot of power since the boosted speaker out draws more power than the line out, but it suits my needs and saves me from buying another multi-hundred dollar thing. Another reviewer similarly hacked his $100 Symphonisk SONOS speaker from IKEA, which is a smart move since the Symphonisk is a lot cheaper than the Sonos port. In short, this is great for a few SONOS hacking use cases if you ask me!
