For the money this armor is excellent. Use under an off-road jacket keeps you out of routine low-speed junkyards. Good protection for arms, shoulders, upper back, upper chest. It will NOT protect your ribs, kidneys or stomach. Build quality is decent and offers adequate ventilation. I have two, one for me and one for my son. both performed well during the three-day aggressive ride through Utah. I broke my ribs when I hit the front wheel and the bike rolled over on me. I'm not sure if armor would prevent this. :) This is not race or street gear. This is for recreational off-road driving. Those who expect more will be disappointed.
