This may have been my most unwanted purchase in a long time, but I bought it so I have to reconsider. I was so excited to see this lens on the road that I bought the f/1.4 version to match that focal length. This lens is as good as the praise it gets everywhere people talk about Fuji lenses. So why such a seemingly unnecessary purchase? The f/1.4 lens is too big for miniature Fuji bodies. It's great visually, but I use DX cameras when I need a lower profile than when I'm carrying my bright full-frame DSLRs. This f/2.8 lens brings my X-T2 back to the little kit that originally made me buy it. It corresponds exactly to the f/2 set (23, 35, 50 mm) in size and power. I think you have little to lose by using this smaller and lighter model instead of the faster version. I did some testing with a brick wall and this lens is able to deliver edge-to-edge sharpness from one stop down. I prefer using a smaller lens because it's easy to carry and you can take your camera with you anywhere, which means you're more likely to carry it around. I really know when I'm using an f/1.4 lens because the size and weight let you know it's there. To be clear, this slower lens doesn't replace a faster lens when you're shooting in low light. Shooting with f/1.4 and a wide angle of view is magical. However, this small lens lends itself to the way most people use wide-angle lenses, ie. H. Aperture for medium to deep depth of field when shooting streets, cities and landscapes. I gave the f/1.4 lens 5 stars and compared to the $1000 lens and the $400 lens I'm rating this lens 5 stars for value for money.
