So I upped the ante on the 3900X for casual gaming and HTPC. So far this MB has been very reliable. I don't have much patience for overclocking other than using simple settings that allow for random overclock settings. So it works great for gaming and home theater. But the sound (audio) is a bit stinky, at least as far as drivers and software are concerned. If you google it you can find out what other people have done with the non-working audio. The sound doesn't work for me when the front panel connector is connected to the MB. I haven't found an answer to this yet, I was only using the monitor's headphone output when gaming, so I only use this motherboard's audio for home theater in stereo or 5.1. It actually sounds good, but I felt like I wanted to use an equalizer. I used the UAC drivers instead of the ones provided by MSI (google it if you're familiar with Windows drivers) and installed the equalizer APO to get the bass I wanted. I used to use an additional sound card with much better software and drivers (HT Omega) but there were always problems with noise and the sound of this motherboard (Realtek ALC 1220) has none of the noise I heard. I also don't use the Realtek audio utility in the windows store as it has few features and doesn't seem to work.
