Money well spent (casual perspective)

This is not a solid expert, but an ordinary guy. This is BEAST. Used with a Focusrite Solo 3 and will power the 80ohm version just fine, but I wouldn't use it with the 250ohm version. I mainly use them for gaming, watching TV and listening to music. The included case is unusable for these headphones due to the size, but it fits all my other cans perfectly. The cord is a bit long, but you can easily loop it around your desk/workspace to shorten the cord's length and not show excess cord. The cord won't come loose, which sucks, but there are modifications that can be made to make the cord detachable (only do this if you rely on your craftsmanship). Comfort: The earbuds are a bit stiff at first, but adjust to your ears very quickly, probably within 2-3 hours of use. I wear glasses and they don't put too much pressure on my glasses until I've had 6-8 hour sessions, which is rare. Ear pads are the most comfortable material you can find on the market. Noise Cancellation: The noise cancellation is so good my girlfriend wants to light it up. Don't cook with them, you won't hear the oven turn off. Whether music, game noises, dialogues, the sound does not leak. However, if you listen to it at 70% or more volume, the sounds leak a bit, no big deal, it just sounds like a low volume phone when you're in a quiet room. Ton: OK, I'm no expert here. no way, definitely not an audiophile. But these are the cleanest headphones I've ever heard. I don't necessarily record music, but I play a bit with my guitar and professional instruments, and no matter what effects I add to the sound, the sound is crystal clear. Highs are a bit bright, but well audible and distinguishable, every detail can be heard. Bass isn't absurdly loud, but again, it's crystal clear. If you want it to sound like you've got two 15-inch subwoofers glued in your head, then this isn't for you. When it comes to gaming, I'm a little worried about how they're going to perform with directional audio. I plugged them in and all my worries were gone. I hear everything from everywhere it's crazy I've used a few mid to high end headsets (HyperX, Astro A40, Razer Kracken Pro and a few others) and just have nothing to compare them to. I don't know how the sound profile compares to a 990 Pro, but if you're like me and don't want your girlfriend/roommate/parents/family to hear ALL of your gaming sounds or anything you listen to them - that's path. Overall: 10/10 would recommend. You'll need to have an audio interface (or a cheap headphone amp) to turn them on, but it's worth it. If you choose the interface, you can also get a decent XLR mic and boost the quality of your mic by 10x. I guess I'll be using them for at least the next 5-10 years because even if the parts wear out or start cracking/breaking it doesn't matter. You can replace almost anything with them! And the parts are pretty cheap. Apparently beyerdynamic has been around for a long time, and after two months of use I can understand why.
