Follow instructions first The pump arrived quickly and in top condition. I completely redid the well connector and thought I would do myself a favor by installing it in plastic instead of galvanized steel. NO ! Deserved, but everything continued to fail. There were also difficulties starting the pump. I reinstalled it today with galvanized steel and no problem. Basic note. This pump takes a lot of patience to get going, especially on my well which is right on the 25 foot limit. So to simplify, simply remove the filler plug and connect the hose fitting to the shut-off ball valve. You really want this if you have to break your system every year. In any case, connect a hose to the filler plug and turn it on until the gauge (supplied with the pump in my case) reads about 10psi, then turn the pump on. Refuel immediately. This pump is strong. I have abused it in all my experiments with plastic. Running dry or at very low pressure without low pressure shut off. it's still pulling and seems to be pumping. that goes 50 psi with no problems. Keeps up with 1 full faucet or about 3 sprinkler heads. Very easy to connect and parts are available with a complete overhaul kit. I already checked as I should probably put one in mine, note that running the low pressure pump is of no use. Result. NO plastic lines. Use the tank connector. Don't try shortcuts.
