Review on ZOSEN Bicycle Stabilizers: Reliable Training Wheels for Kids Bikes (12-20 Inch) by Jon Garcia

Surprisingly strong

I had a hard time finding training wheels for my daughter. She is 3 years old and we were given a 12" bike with no training wheels. We bought another set of training wheels, but the mount was unreliable and the wheels kept bending. I gave them a try and was quite impressed on most levels. Despite the lack of a corner post to increase stiffness, the flex held up very well, even when tipping to one side with his full weight. I've been using them for a few months so they've gone their way. What I didn't like was the decor. Although they bolted on like any other jockey wheel, the length was quite long (which is to be expected, to accommodate such different heights for wheel sizes). At 12 inches over the axle, there was so much metal sticking out that I was afraid my daughter would scratch herself. In the end I took the saw to the excess metal and cut it almost to the height of the axle. I left enough to accommodate the 14" level in the future, but no more. I then dipped the end in a liquid rubber coating to prevent accidental cuts. It worked very well and my daughter had no problems with it. If you are willing to put in more effort, they are strong enough to handle most children!
