I use these ballasts to replace the crappy junk sold in most lights. If I buy an inexpensive light and change out the ballast, I know what's in the lamp (rather than paying for an expensive light only to find out it has a 35 cent ballast) and can be sure that I'm going with can go out with the lights on and not come back into a house fire. Simple and straightforward installation, the length of the cables is more than sufficient for a 48" instrument. These ballasts start my T-8 lamps quickly and in cold weather with no noticeable flicker.
