A very durable piece of expensive plastic

I bought this board after my friends came to visit and he and his wife complimented me on my "identical" board while they were here. So just before my last visit I sent them this board in a different condition so they could have it for a party they were throwing. use to make salsa. It was very close to what I bought many years ago. How many years? I don't know exactly, but probably around 12 or more. I literally cut a ton of veggies and fruit on my board, as well as lots of other things. And I've never had a problem with it. Yes, it will have cut marks, like mine. But NO, small pieces of acrylic do not end up in food. Will it dull your knives? Of course. Compared to a block of wood? No idea. This has never been a problem for me. Acrylic is definitely more resistant to microbial growth than wood, which is a big plus for me. Look at the pictures of my board. It's all cut up and pretty messed up (I have to bleach it) but it's still 100% done. I lost two legs at first, but that was because I yanked the board out of the dish dryer too hard and got tangled in the process. I never bothered to re-stick them and had no problems at all without them. It's easily the most useful gadget in my kitchen and I usually use it at least once a day. Ideal for general cooking and serving. So, yes, it's a pretty expensive piece of plastic, but considering its potential lifespan (not to mention the cool storage options), it costs about $2 a year. Conclusion - highly recommended.
