I bought this inverter to use during a power outage, I have a gas generator but when the power goes out it's usually during a thunderstorm. So I calculated the watts I would need during a power outage. So now I have a battery on the tender and if the power goes out all I have to do is put the battery in and connect the inverter. There is TV, cable etc. Within 5 minutes. I tested 1 time the battery was 12.69V, I connected the TV and cable box, 163W. I turned on the TV and cable box for 2 hours and at the end of my 2 hour test the battery voltage was 12 .05 volts so I only lost 0.64 volts. It's much better than lugging the generator to pull cables from the generator into the house. And I've only used a motorcycle battery, which is half the amp rating of a full-size car battery. Remember, the more devices you want to use, the less battery life you'll get.
