Review on 🔐 Enhanced-Performance EPL-106-W Patio Door Lock with Keyed Large Rectangle in White Finish by John Gray

This is a light device but it works as intended. I would stop, probably stopping mischievous youths, but not those intending to enter your door. Installation is not as easy as it seems. Due to the low profile of the lock, it is not possible to drill 1/2 bolt holes in a straight head. The gap for an electric drill (I've tried three different ones) is minimal and I couldn't drill a straight hole (left/right) without removing the sliding door trim piece. To remove the slider head strip, remove the 50 pound door from the track and set it aside. If your slider tip is caulked (most likely if it's painted) you are now in the process of trimming and painting, adding cost and time. Also, the screw is not 1/2 inch in diameter. So if you want a lock, measure the screw and drill the correct size. Drilling a 1/2" hole in the head gives too much wiggle room, I'd like to measure the thing and drill a slightly smaller hole, but I followed the instructions (error). Overall it works and has made my wife happy.
