Review on πŸ”Œ C2G USB Adapter 3.0 - Black Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter by Cables to Go 39700 by Jeff Sorensen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

22429 USB Serial Cable is only available in gray color and will not work with serial UART OEM drivers.

This image from Revain shows the *blue outer jacket of the Cables-To-Go (C2G) 16899 USB-A to DB25M cable. However, the 22429 cable listed in the title/description is only available in gray color. The colors of the image in the listing do not match the actual color of the item. 16899 and 22429 only differ in the case color, but the internal hardware appears to be the same IMHO the image needs to be modified to show this the actual article is OEM Cables-to-Go does not state on their Revain listing or on their OEM website that these USB serial data cables only work with serial device drivers that are preinstalled with Microsoft Windows Setup or Microsoft Windows Update software. Technical data 22429 and 16899 of the C2G website (16898-99.pdf), which can be found in the technical support section of the website, mention this only briefly. The USB serial cable should not be used with HP All-In-One Printer/Scanners /fax machines can be used. Old third-party or OEM serial drivers that use Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter Chipset (UART) communications or custom programming based on hardware IRQs cannot use these USB cables because the UART and IRQ programming of of the USB converter hardware is not understood. IMHO C2G needs to update product descriptions 22429 and 16898-899 on the website to better describe how these USB cables actually work so customers like me don't have to search their website for hidden specs to find information that would be easy should be accessible!
