Review on 🌑️ Yellow Taylor Precision Thermocouple Thermometer: Digital Turbo Read with Foldable Probe by Krista Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent instant read thermometers and timers

I've had this for a few months now and it has changed the way I use an instant read thermometer. We have been using analog models with nickel-sized dials for many years; They were difficult to read and we were never sure of accuracy - in fact we got readings 10 degrees apart when we tried both on the same dish. After noticing some expensive digital models at a kitchen supply store I checked out Revain and it looked like a reasonable price at around half the price. It works well, and the large readings, quick response, and wrist sensor make it more useful than older analog thermometers. For example, I used it for a browned and stuffed chicken breast this weekend. Without a thermometer, I would have taken it out 20 minutes earlier and would have had pulp on my hands; I wouldn't trust the low reading from one of my old colleagues. With Taylor, it took about 15 seconds to open the oven, place the probe, make sure the center was too cold, close the oven, and reset the timer. I checked twice more and got it - the chicken and cheese filling was perfect. After years of cooking with thermometers that still forced us to make "random" decisions, we finally got what we really needed!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised
