Review on 🚲 Black Rambo Bikes R150: Extra Large Cargo/Luggage Rear Bike Rack by James Trapkin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for Motobecane night train with small modifications.

Based on the photos of this item I decided to take a chance and order it to see if it will fit on my Motobecane sleeper train. The mounting points ended up in the same places as my fat tire bike, but I wasn't sure it would work. The item has arrived and it appears to be a sturdy tubular aluminum frame. It comes with mounting hardware but the screws were 6mm. The soldering on my frame is typically M5 (e.g. for water bottles) so I had to find some 20mm M5 stainless steel screws for the bottom attachment point. Above I used M5 16mm stainless steel screws. The Motobecane's frame is said to be wider than the Rambo, but with a little tug and push I was able to widen the lower legs to fit the solder joints and secure them. The top mounting points connect to a 5-hole mounting rail, so you can adjust it a bit, but it's not as convenient as the kind that slides and tightens in place. I suspect the reason they didn't use this type is because this trunk was used to tow various types of Rambo trailers, so they probably wanted a solid mount that was more or less permanent. It comes with 2 lengths of top mount arms so you can choose the one that best suits your needs. Considering it wasn't made for my bike, it looks pretty good and feels very durable. If you're looking for a fat tire bike rack and don't have some of the most common mounting points on a frame, this might be the way to go. Even if you don't have bottom solder where this post connects, you can use a clip around the frame and attach to it. My bike doesn't have some of the most common mounting points on the frame, so I looked for something that might work. This rack just fit my bike. Generally very satisfied so far. I just installed it and I hope it comes out soon.
