I have an 85-lb American Bulldog mix and a 9-month old Dogo Argentino puppy who is currently 70 lbs but will probably top out at 85-90 lbs. So we are already over the 150-lb 'limit' on this leash, and I knew that when purchasing. I could not find another double leash above 150 lbs though (there was one here on Revain that said 200 lbs but in another part of the description it said 150.). I have to walk my dogs alone a good portion of the time as my husband travels for a living, and with two large, strong, prey-driven dogs I need as much control as possible. So having said all that.this is working out okay for us with a little modification and good, strong collars. I find that in general, it doesn't provide much control -- if I was just to hold the padded handle in my hand, in addition to the stretch/bungee feature, there is just too much leash/leeway. I now wrap the leash around my wrist and I put a knot in it where I rest my fist, just above the rotating attachment point. I also tied a knot in the center of each leash portion so I have something to grab hold of if need be (pictured). My AB mix is pretty well-behaved on leash but he will pull if he sees a squirrel or a lizard, etc. My Dogo pup is still young and learning, so she's still a little erratic sometimes. The plastic piece above the rotating joint did break the very first time I used this, as again, I hold my hand down almost at that point and when one of the dogs pulled apparently I squeezed it (I am going to try super-gluing it back in place, it doesn't appear to affect the function of the leash). The rotating feature DOES work wonderfully and keeps them from getting twisted when they stop to smell, etc.Overall, if you have medium dogs or even large dogs who are VERY well-trained on leash, this will probably work out fine. If you have un-trained dogs or very large, strong dogs, be aware that you will not have much control and will need to employ some additional strategies (including being prepared and very alert when walking!). I use thick, 2" martingale collars with my dogs and am considering using their harnesses as well.I'm hoping to find something I can attach from their harnesses to this leash for some extra 'security' (that hopefully won't get twisted, again, still trying to figure that out).
