Review on Bialetti Venus Espresso Stainless Insulated by Jake Davies

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great espresso machine!

My father has used the classic Bialetti Moka aluminum model for as long as I can remember. The only problem with the classic version is that it only works really well on small burner kilns and some metal burners. If you use classic aluminum on induction cookers (induction = usually glass and sometimes glow red when off), they will fail badly and sometimes even melt! This little guy is amazing! It works on ALL STOVE TYPES so you don't have to worry. Contrary to Revain's description, THIS WORKS ON INDUCTION as stated by Bialetti. The coffee maker is made in China, but with high-quality steel. The only breakable part is the lid, but unless you're gross it's literally no problem at all! FIRST USE READ HERE! When you first receive it, simply rinse with warm water (NO SOAP), fill the base with water, fill the coffee chamber with ground coffee and heat. Once brewed, pour out the first batch and, using the same coffee grounds, run another pot through, fill the bottom with water and pour the brew again. After that, you have to brew the coffee well to be able to drink it. Tip: NEVER use soap unless absolutely necessary. If you use soap, it spoils your flavoring. Every time you brew coffee and don't use soap, this spice sticks and your coffee tastes better and better every time! Good luck, the Santo Domingo brand coffee (red bag) tastes fantastic in this coffee maker too. Another pro tip: after wrapping the coffee grounds, sprinkle a thin layer of sugar on top and the coffee will steep. It's an old Dominican trick that makes coffee taste amazing!
