I used this switch on a 2000 lb winch. I had to buy some connectors at my local hardware store, but nothing special. Don't try to solder the wires directly to the switch, you'll just fry the block. I soldered 10 gauge wire to the connectors and then put it in a standard plastic outlet and covered it with a metal cover. Now I can stand a few feet from my 25ft trailer and tow a full size car. Using an ohmmeter I was able to determine which pins I needed to connect and disconnect the battery. Exactly what I needed. I saved about $80 by not buying an off the shelf product. Some of these winch manufacturers are too proud of their product.
