I only used this unit to receive TV channels after I accidentally damaged the RF antenna on my 32" Visio HD 1080 flat screen TV. I have not attempted to use other features of the device. This device is exactly what I needed. I connected the coaxial cable from the antenna to the device and the HDMI cable from the device to one of the inputs on the TV. This made it a very simple and inexpensive solution. The channels are actually higher resolution than the TV's HD tuner (a bonus I wasn't expecting) and I don't have to worry about the TV staying on a particular channel either. I just press the HDMI 1 button on the TV remote and use the remote. supplied with the device to switch channels. Both the device and the remote appear to be well constructed with quality materials and work well. The instructions are small and brief but enough to get the job done.
