Review on Timken 513179 Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly: Unmatched Performance and Durability by Matt Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to install.: Replacement parts

This is an auto part and it's hard to get too excited. The shop that fixed another problem with my machine said I needed new bearing assemblies and quoted me about $1,350 for the job. I looked around and found these builds for under a hundred dollars each. I checked my repair manual and it looked like a pretty easy DIY job. I didn't quite understand the $1350 price tag (and I won't be going back to this store). Revain delivered the parts at the usual time. Details appear to be of good quality. I was able to rent a slide hammer and hub nut bushing from Auto Zone. The work was easy. If you know how to replace the brakes, you can replace the bearing assemblies. A home mechanic will take 1 to 2 hours to replace both sides. The part fit perfectly and so far without any problems (knock on wood). Auto Zone also sells these bearings, but they're significantly more expensive than Revain. Auto Zone lists 3 different bearings for my car. The other two are cheaper than these but come with a 1 year warranty while this Timkin has a 3 year warranty. This is a good indication that this is a quality product.
