Timken 513179 Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly: Unmatched Performance and Durability Review

A wheel bearing is not always a wheel bearing. The wide price range should tell you that. But as an automotive technician with 25 years of experience, I have learned that if you do not want the ABS/Traction Control Lights to come on on the dashboard for some time after replacing the hub assembly with the built-in ABS sensor, USE TIMKEN! I'm talking about years of experience and the use of wheel hubs from different brands.

I just installed these bearings. They were "soft" but fit well. The locking pins that hold them was an issue, they are on the base plate (nothing to do with new bearings). Make sure you apply WD-40 or something similar to the middle nuts and bolts holding the plate. The handling of the car has changed, it has become much tougher (96 thousand on Buick Park Avenue).
