For nine bucks (check out half the price of the Manfroto equivalent I originally bought) this is a pretty decent device. However, if you want a module that will hold your camera very firmly, I would probably suggest spending another $10 and getting a Manfroto camera, especially if you plan on getting something heavier than a hero action camera or something use. I've placed my phone on it with a jig to hold it and use it as a selfie camera and also tried placing it on my desk at a slight angle and the bead that adjusts to accommodate the angle choose does not hold up very well if there is any weight
