They solved my problem
I didn't have any of these connectors when I bought the water flow sensor which had one of them on a short cable. I needed the sensor near water, but I didn't want the Arduino reading the sensor to get wet, so I used one of those extension cords to disconnect them. The project required more work than I thought it would, so I unplugged and plugged those cables back in many times. They hold up well when connected, but are easy to separate and provide a solid electrical connection. They are not designed to be waterproof. When the project worked I wrapped the connection at the sensor with waterproof tape. They still work fine.
