Review on πŸš— Enhance Your Ride with Monroe MA830 Max-Air Air Shock Absorbers (Set of 2) by Tim Wadman

These shocks are garbage!

Installed air hose kit for Monroe AK29 shocks (adapter kit). To be honest I was wondering how they could hold their breath with such a flimsy little rig. I went through the instructions carefully to make sure they were installed properly, put about 90 pounds of pressure on them and checked the pressure the next day and it was less than 10 pounds. I wasn't surprised as the little flimsy plastic lines and fittings attached to the shocks didn't seem solid. You would think they have threaded fittings on the shocks, but the lines just snap onto the fittings on the shocks. They have small o-rings inside, but they cannot be tightened to hold air. Unfortunately I don't have time for that. I requested a refund and asked for enough time to take them off to send them back but was only given a few days to get them back. By the time I was able to get a replacement set to take them off and send them back it was too late. to find time to do this work again. Now that I've finally found the time to do it again, I'm also attached to those junk shock absorbers that I paid good money for just to throw away. I replaced them with a set of Bilstein shocks that work great.

Pros
  • The product consists of shock absorbers only and does NOT include a mounting kit.
Cons
  • Not all will fit
