Exploded seal in 40 days.

1 month 9 days after power off, the seal has come loose. I towed a drifting boat and set the pressure at 90psi with the specs showing a maximum pressure of 150psi. I am not satisfied with this product. The air was constantly being bled off, but it was a snug fit on the air rod and damper valving. Not thrilled, will not buy again.

Pros
  • Lubricated Air Sleeve - Reduces friction for longer life. Provides smoother operation when the suspension moves.
Cons
  • Faulty

Basic results but works as expected.

These were used to replace Arnott shocks that I installed to replace the LT Air-Ride system on my 2004 Tahoe. Upon closer inspection, these Monroes are exactly the same dampers as the Arnott dampers. I paid three times more for the Arnott than for these Monroes. None were as good as the OEM Chevy LT Air-Ride shocks. They spring much more than normal shock absorbers. I only have 15psi in the shocks and the rebound has way too much bounce. BUT if you need extra lift for heavy loads or towing…

Pros
  • Sintered Iron Plunger - Stronger than traditional metals, increases durability for longer life.
Cons
  • functionality.

These shocks are garbage!

Installed air hose kit for Monroe AK29 shocks (adapter kit). To be honest I was wondering how they could hold their breath with such a flimsy little rig. I went through the instructions carefully to make sure they were installed properly, put about 90 pounds of pressure on them and checked the pressure the next day and it was less than 10 pounds. I wasn't surprised as the little flimsy plastic lines and fittings attached to the shocks didn't seem solid. You would think they have threaded…

Pros
  • The product consists of shock absorbers only and does NOT include a mounting kit.
Cons
  • Not all will fit
