I bought this to hold a projector and it works great for that. I've since used it to hold my laptop when I'm working from the porch. When typing or moving the touchpad, the shelf wobbles a bit. The tray is not as strong as I would like it to be. But that doesn't stop me from using it as a makeshift laptop desk. A few improvements that would help this product are a screw to adjust the brackets that hold the telescopic legs. As with trekking poles, this is a very valuable feature. Over time, these fasteners may not seem to hold and it becomes necessary to tighten them. Of course, this cannot be the case with this product. Another improvement will be the ability to rotate the tray. You can level the tripod with your legs, but that's a bit annoying. A simple swivel mechanism for the tray would be awesome. All in all a great product.
