You must be willing to play around!

This is great technology and I've barely scratched the surface of its capabilities. It was bought to listen to FT8 broadcasts. In the future it will be used in many ways that I can't imagine yet. Note that it takes a lot of learning to really make this thing work the way you want it to. Furthermore, endless levels of customization will kill a mere mortal. First of all I would like to point out that after the purchase I received an email from the seller saying that the drivers are very important. Thanks seller! Follow their instructions and it's pretty painless once you're familiar with software installation. If not, then Youtube is your friend. This is the first time a seller has warned me before receiving their product. I didn't like the CubicSDR software they're supposed to use, but it works. could be good for you So far I've settled on using the AirSpy SDR, it routes the audio to the Virtual Cable software and then sends it to the WSJT-X. If you are interested, just look it up on Youtube. It seems to indicate what I want. Waiting for cable to connect radio. Smelly Covid. I watched a few videos and read everything I could find before I got this. If there is a better price I haven't found it. There are more expensive ones that also send. Now I want to turn to the guy who said you can use 75 ohm coax if you just listen. Well if you tune it in around 10am you will definitely hear something. You might even get some FT8 through. But no, you won't like that at all. I'm not a rocket surgeon, but I can tell you what I see. The Ham It Up converter I have requires installing -125,000,000 Shift in the SDR software. At least in AirSpy, it is important that the offset contains commas. Even if it shows items in the menu. It was almost an hour of googling. This guy is really hot! Haven't published it yet. But I place it where it can get as much air as possible. Lessons I Learned the Hard Way: Extend the USB Cable, before using the drop cable between the SDR and the antenna. I discovered that when there was a 16-foot "China Best RG-58u" in the mix, I got no signals that could be processed for FT8 and mostly noise. I assume that the newly produced cables and adapters caused a lot of losses? The connections I received are good. Use a meter to check the ones you get, just to be sure. The purchased cables should also be tested. When buying an antenna, make sure you know which one to use. More is not always better. Search the web for an antenna calculator and key in the frequency you want to hear and it will give you 1/4 wavelength, then tune your antenna accordingly. Find this kit on YouTube and learn how to set up a balun for longwire and dipole antennas. This is the only antenna that has worked for me. Others are for wavelengths that don't interest me yet. One antenna won't do everything. I tried using it on a Raspberry Pi 3b+ and Pi 4 2 Gig and found that the CPU wasn't sufficient to eliminate clipping in the audio. The Pis are great, but I don't think so. The software kept the processor running at 100%. At the moment I'm using it on Windows 10, i7. Nothing is lost and it runs at 20% of the CPU. that don't interest me yet. One antenna won't do everything.
