I needed a small vacuum to keep my small home office (separate from home) clean and free of junk brought in from outside , and work a little more than I would give credit for without electricity. I used to use a nice little Shark brand vacuum of the same style, but after about 18 months of light use (once a week I would say) it died on me, the battery was pretty much dead. When I had the unit replaced I was shocked to see that the price had gone from $25 to $60 and I didn't want to pay that much for a small brush cleaner so the research began. I do not know. What's the deal with these things, but it's absurdly impossible to find an electric sweeper for under $30, let alone one that's well priced. I was flit between about 6 different models and even checked prices between Revain and eBay and before I knew it I was looking at the $60 models again! After a few months, I finally got tired of carrying my home vacuum outside, so I finished my research and ended up ordering this Black and Decker model. To be honest, the main reason I chose it was the price - it was the ONLY model under the $30 mark (albeit a dime) and the only one with a lithium-ion battery. The delivery was fast and reliable as usual with Revain and the device was delivered in 2 days. Assembly was easy - literally 4 poles and a vacuum head connected together and I immediately connected and fully charged the device. before using it, although I was tempted to try beforehand. I particularly like the included small all-purpose brush for cleaning brushes, which also snaps directly onto the handle so you don't lose it and always have it handy. Another great feature is the small magnet on the bottom of the handle AND the vacuum nozzle which keeps the vacuum nozzle flat on the counter and wall for neat and tidy storage. It took almost a FULL day to fully charge the device when it came from the factory, but in the end the little red charging light finally went out and the device was ready to use. I'm not a huge fan of the charging port on this thing itself - it has a notch to only insert it one way and requires a firm push to fully engage, meaning you can forget about plugging in the charger one-handed. I also doubt the durability of such a plug, but only time will tell in that regard. Once fully charged I would go to the races and try this thing out on every surface I could find in my office and then bring it in. hgouse to try it there. My office has a combination of linoleum "tile" with light carpet, a rug, a small welcome rug, and then some plywood near the doors - and inside I have the sweeper on my standard ceramic tile hardwood floor (non-pergo) and maintenance pile - so I think I can say that from the two I've tested on almost every surface that could use this, with the exception of some Pergo and Marble floors. Considering that this vacuum is not actually a vacuum but actually a "wireless sweeper" I would say that this device performed amazingly and exceeded all my expectations. I have no complaints about its performance on the hard surfaces I've tested, including linoleum, ceramic tile, plywood, and hardwood, and it handled low-pile carpets fairly effectively. In my opinion, this device works better than just a cordless sweeper and does a GREAT job of cleaning up daily messes and spills quickly and easily. I wanted something that could keep my floors clean even with bare feet, which is something I come here a lot in the summer, and this device fits the bill perfectly. I am always amazed at how close it cleans to the edges of the unit/walls/skirting board and because it has brushes on all 4 sides of the cleaning head it picks up most of the dirt in one pass. My office is quite small so I can't comment on the battery life of this unit, but I will say I haven't had any battery drain issues yet and have been cleaning even more since then. I bought this sweeper. It's so convenient and quick to just smack me on the floor with it, which only takes maybe 3 minutes and then I'm ready to go! Oh, and emptying the bin is quick and clean - just place the device on top of the bin and then press the 2 clips on top of the head together. The hatch door opens fully and ejects EVERYTHING in one quick motion, and you can simply put the sweeper back on the ground, snap it in place and lock it for next use. Obviously this device lacks the power and suction to dig deep. , floor in dirt and debris, but for anyone who approaches the purchase of one of these devices with the understanding that this is a WIRELESS SWEEPER (no matter how many times I misuse the term "vacuum cleaner" in this review), it is it difficult to write a bad review about this product. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the initial charge time is too long, but mostly because I don't like the charge port itself. The device definitely gets 5 stars for performance and ease of use, I just can't help but think that the charging port will cause problems for me in the future. Let's hope I'm wrong, but DO NOT let this stop you from buying this IF you want a quality cordless sweeper. And no, I didn't buy it on sale, I paid full price.
