Review on ๐Ÿ›ข๏ธ Dorman 917-301 Oil Level Dip Stick: A Reliable Tool for Accurate Oil Measurement by Daniel Greene

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not bad but just careful

The product was an exact copy of the OEM that came with the car. The end of the probe is in the shape of a small circle, not just a straight line. Dorman's replacement didn't completely close the circuit and when I put it in the transmission it caught on something in the transmission oil pan and I couldn't get it out. I ended up spinning it a few times and after playing with it for about 5 minutes I pulled it out. But by then the probe was completely bent. When you buy this product, just make sure the circle at the end of the probe is closed and can't get caught on anything.

Pros
  • Restores performance - a reliable replacement for the original dipstick which was bent or broken from fatigue
Cons
  • not reliable
