Review on πŸ”₯ Hardwired Kidde Heat Detector with Battery Backup and 2 LED Indicators by Icehot Cleversley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to install, don't forget the battery

We are going through a major renovation in the house which will require connected smoke alarms - so far I've had mostly battery powered alarms and only one wired device (from a previous project). I knew I really needed some kind of sensor in the garage and boiler room, but smoke detectors there can give false positives, so I bought two of these heat sensors. installed one in the boiler room and hooked it up to several other smoke and smoke/CO kidde detectors I bought at the same time. This is a simple device - the temperature sensor is in a small bar, which you can see in the picture. It comes with a 9 volt battery but unlike all the other Kidde detectors I own you have to take the detector apart to swap it out. Note that when you purchase the HD135F, the battery is placed back in the bay so the connectors don't make contact. You have to turn it (and squint to read the tiny embossed legend that tells you which terminal is positive.) If you don't, it will remind you - just like all other wired devices! Please note that wire nuts are not included.

Pros
  • Smoke Alarm & Fire Alarm
Cons
  • Upgradeable
