Review on πŸ”’ Effortlessly Secure Your Pipes with Apollo PEX 69PTKG1096 Stainless Steel Pinch Clamp Tool by Jeremy Flint

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Calibration is not required. Brand Apollo.

I bought this for a house project. The stamp on the box and handle says Apollo. The Apollo brand and part number are the same and are sold in both the big blue and big orange stores near my house for 50% off Conbracos Revain. I did a calibration test in the manual before using. I didn't have to make any adjustments. I was able to fit two size pieces in a small bag, tie them together with wax tape, and tuck them into the handle. That way I won't lose them or forget what they are for. I've crimped a ton of 1/2" and 3/8" PEX terminals with these crimping machines. They work great and are very easy to crimp. I used to use a Knipex which doesn't have a ratchet and it's easier and gives a tighter crimp. Pretty cool tool. I looked at the sleeves and clamps. I believe if you make a living out of it or have a very large project, using ferrules can end up making you cheaper. (Although it's best to assume the pro has both.) This is because rings are cheaper than pinch clips. The downside is that crimping pliers are much more expensive. You should also go around the clamp and hose to make it harder to get into hard-to-reach places.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • So-so
