[Impressions]Good. This works great as long as you remember to subtract 0.2 inches from each measurement. If 0.2" is not an issue for your application, then no need to worry. I get this error when measuring the front and back of the device. Also, it measures well. The quality is given the price good. This device is good for rough measurements but I wouldn't use it for fine cuts etc. I took several pictures (3, 4) of measurement samples. They always come back at the same value so it seems accurate, but there may be some kind of software bug that adds a constant offset of 0.2 [build quality] Grade: A- (considering the price) I don't have any appreciable protection from water or drops etc but for the price I expect that really not. The screen is bright and easy to read. I don't think the bottom of the device is flat. So if you lay down on the floor, the dot seems to be about 1" higher every 10 feet or so. [Electronics] Electronics and LCD screen are great g and work perfectly. [ Indirect Measurements ] This device has multiple indirect measurement calculations for area, height with 2 points and height with 3 points. I don't know when I'll need them, but they certainly look handy.
