YOM-NOM-NOM-NOM! the best in winemaking

This is a BEAST! MONSTER eating apples! (Yes, I spelled "monching" with an "o".) This device is ideal for crushing apples, pears, and other hard fruits with small pits before squeezing them into juice and cider. It is very durable and has a large lever on the handle. The gears are just the right amount of sharpness for the product and the apples go through with no problem! This device is *not* expensive for what you get. There are a few minor issues, but for $89 I am extremely happy with this device! You'll definitely want to buckle it up. I mounted mine on a 5 gallon bucket and then ran ratchet weight straps down my legs and under a workbench. If you watch the video, you'll understand why it really needs to be strapped in, especially if you're working alone. Assembly was fairly easy, but some of the holes required using a pry tool to line them up. high. Some nuts were not properly welded to the steel and broke off during assembly. Picking up a fallen nut from under the freezer I was able to put it on, but it turned out to be much more difficult. Don't rush, collect. This thing has some sharp edges, and rough handling will give you some nice cuts. Tips: 1. HOLD HANDS! This thing will absolutely pull your meaty fingers out, so keep your fingers off the gears. For this reason alone, I do NOT recommend motorizing this device.2. don't go fast If you go too fast, the apples will bounce badly and the teeth will constantly miss. Yet another reason not to motorize the device unless you are using a low RPM, high torque motor. Which in turn raises the question of killing a person. It's a monster, so you must respect its teeth.3. Overall pretty easy to clean BUT. It has several narrow cracks and crevices that can make it difficult to peel off each piece of fruit. Dental master keys are well suited for this. Again, I would like to suggest that this device is entirely manual. If you want to build a suitable cradle with a properly grounded motor that has a safety cut out such as an "emergency switch" then I'm fine with that. But as you watch the video, just try to imagine that your hand, hair, or clothing got into it.
