🍏 Fruit and Apple Crusher - 7L Manual Juicer Grinder, Portable Fruit Scratter Pulper for Wine and Cider Pressing (Made of Stainless Steel, 1.8 Gallon Capacity, Green) Review

This grinder couldn't be better for apples, pears and larger fruits. I'm disappointed, the gaps between my teeth are too big for grapes and cherries. The plastic gears are also a bit of a concern. It seems that they are always on the verge of breaking a tooth, but so far this has not happened. I would feel more confident if there were two spare plastic gears attached to the grinder when I bought it. I believe the saying is true - if it looks too good to be true, it is.

This worked very well for crushing apples in my SMALL cider project. This is not a commercial machine (for example the hopper is made of fairly thin sheet metal) but it works as it should and I expect it to last for many years. Small feet on the bottom fit comfortably on the rim of a 5 gallon bucket. The resulting apple pulp was made from pieces of apple, probably medium 1/4 inch, that were easily squeezed out of the juice without getting into the cider.

Great quality for the price. At first we wanted to just leave it on the bucket so it's secure during use and you need someone to hold it easy. I often brew my own cider, so my husband set it up (with a few modifications) on the picnic table next to our abs. That worked much better! We used a drill as others have mentioned but didn't find it perfect. Setting it up on a table with a bucket underneath was the perfect setup. I could even sit up when I pushed and my kids could handle it on their own

I made 3 modifications to this crusher to get it working best for me (see pics and video): 1 - I loosely tightened the 4 semi-circular clamps to prevent the hopper from moving when breaking moves. 2 - I put a cutting board on top to partially cover the hole because the material spatters when using a cordless drill. It also gives me something to hold on to while crushing. I made two grooves on the cutting board to match the edges of the bin 3 - I removed the handle (too slow and too much work)…

Worked really well. I was able to make 7 gallons of cider with this Scratter. Pros: Well made, easy to clean, efficient, fits well over a 5 gallon plastic bucket when sanding. I was able to squeeze 1 gallon of cider for every 5 gallon bucket of apples. I wondered if I could increase my productivity by skipping the apples twice, but it made no difference. This is a BEAST! MONSTER eating apples! (Yes, I spelled "monching" with an "o".) This device is ideal for crushing apples, pears, and other hard fruits with small pits before squeezing them into juice and cider. It is very durable and has a large lever on the handle. The gears are just the right amount of sharpness for the product and the apples go through with no problem! This device is *not* expensive for what you get.
