Worked really well. I was able to make 7 gallons of cider with this Scratter. Pros: Well made, easy to clean, efficient, fits well over a 5 gallon plastic bucket when sanding. I was able to squeeze 1 gallon of cider for every 5 gallon bucket of apples. I wondered if I could increase my productivity by skipping the apples twice, but it made no difference. Cons: Assembly was a little tricky, not all the holes in the funnel lined up, but nothing special. The hand crank is really hard and slow. It would take two people to operate it with the handle: one to hold the scraper and one to turn the handle. I removed the handle and attached an 18V cordless drill to the shaft, and hooray! It made all the difference! It is highly recommended to use a power drill to power the device. The apples had to be quartered or the scraper teeth wouldn't pull through the apples, especially the big ones. WARNING: The apples will hang in the hopper and you will have to push them down from time to time to engage the teeth. Don't do this while your teeth are spinning or you'll add some blood to your cider! Conclusion: a good little device, I recommend.
