Ideal for hotter climates

I usually buy duvets but even in winter they are too hot and get uncomfortably hot after an hour. My winter temperatures typically average 50/60 degrees Fahrenheit at night and sometimes dip into the 40s. The bedspread is lighter than a duvet but has the feel of a traditional duvet. It's heavier than flannel sheets but lighter than a blanket; rather indicates a thin/light ceiling. I prefer it to a duvet. There are a lot more seams and it tends to wrinkle. I was told to smooth out the wrinkles, iron inside out in cotton fabric (I don't mind). Metallic in Intelligent Design bed linen tends to wear out with normal washing (washing machine and dryer). I hand wash the bedspread; Make sure it doesn't soak for too long and lay it on a clothesline to dry so the metal doesn't dissolve. I would guess that most buy it for its decorative style. This pattern is also found in eyelet curtains, shower curtains, electric blankets, throws, throw pillows, pillowcases, duvets and bedspreads.
