This was a "normal" amount of work and difficulty for a chandelier install. The biggest downside is the directions aren't the best in the world. My only recommendation to add to all the other reviews is you need to size how the mounting screws will fit into silver cover by placing the crossbar with the screws being placed into the holes in the silver cover. Once all four are in the silver cover, tighten the nut on the crossbar that the screw is on. After that, remove the crossbar from the silver cover and install the crossbar on the ceiling as instructed. As other reviews have stated, you will need screw into a joist on at least 2 sides of the crossbars. The weight of the chandelier is too heavy and distributed to only screw into the wood where the electrical wire is being wired into. BIGGEST PAIN. As with other reviews. the electrical wire needs to be longer because when holding up the silver light fixture, its VERY short when connecting to the house electrical wire. Its doable, but you are going to feel like you just had a great shoulder workout at the gym when finished.
