Review on πŸ’» AVLT 4-Port USB 3.1 Gen 2 10G Hub - USB-A and USB-C Ports - Portable Hub for MacBook, iMac, iPad, Surface, Pixel Slate, Galaxy Tab - Expand your Connectivity! by Scott Rao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great idea, but maybe it was ahead of its time?

Perhaps we don't see these devices anymore because the USB Type-C specification doesn't address the need for port replicators, especially when it comes to power distribution. Quality product, for "normal" devices. Mice, kb, an HDD or SSD. But I couldn't get 2 2TB SSDs to work with Veracrypt encryption. The second connected the second, the first deciphered and fell out. A similar story with trying to connect both before decryption. Unfortunately there aren't any. The seller was very accommodating and worked with me to try and fix the problem, although in the end we couldn't. You may also need one with PD bandwidth as we've figured out what I'm doing. Unfortunately all PDs going through Revain seem to have 100 ports with bells which I don't care. I think I'll actually wait for someone to come up with a simple power transition, albeit with 2 USB C and 2 USB 3.1 and nothing else. I hope.
