My little parrot, who is not normally afraid of ANYTHING, refused to go to this birdbath. Don't ask me why - she usually wants to check everything in her cage as soon as I lock the door. I don't know if it's the color, or the shape, or if she was afraid she wouldn't get out of the water. Who knows what was going on in her little bird brain? All I know is that she didn't like it, so I didn't like it. It looked like a great design and slipped easily over her plaid and seemed to stay in place well. It just didn't work for her. I ended up putting another type of open bird bath in there, here is a link to it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I6ORHS/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_22 She immediately climbed into this bird bath and started splashing and to play. So I don't think there was anything wrong with this drinker, it just didn't suit my particular bird.
