Bought an old house with a LOUD genius screwdriver. There were actually 2, one made a normal/acceptable garage door noise but the other made a TERRIBLE rumble in the room every time we opened and closed the garage door for the better part of 10 years. Thanks to Corona, I have time to tackle some projects that I have put off for a long time. I first bought new XiKe nylon rollers and bearings here for $35. It took some time and effort, but there was no noticeable improvement in noise levels. Then I bought some L Continue vibration isolators here for another $15. More work to climb the stairs and then redesign the mounting brackets to make room for the isolators. Again, no real difference in noise level. Then on a whim I tried this genius lube on the screw and like magic the noise went away. The old "loud" opener is now much quieter than the old "regular/acceptable" tube set, and the $10 box contains 3 tubes (once a year is recommended), so less than $4 each. year I can keep it in good condition and quiet. So I hope everyone can learn from my experience that you don't have to spend a lot of money to fix this problem. Buy the right lube and you're good to go! Much luck!
