Review on Belkin F4U110Bt Thunderbolt Upstream Transfer and Charging for 3840X2160 by Jason Adelaja

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great if you need a THUNDERBOLT 3 Port Replicator/Dock

Be aware in advance that this Belkin Dock is designed specifically for Thunderbolt. I have a USB-C port on my Dell 5200 2-in-1 work computer that I plugged into in hopes of using for multiple monitors. However, this laptop uses Displayport over USB-C and is not compatible with this dock. Other than that, it works great with my Macbook Pro 15 inch Retina 14.3. External displays, USB devices, Gigabit Ethernet, no problem. I haven't had any issues with an adequate power supply (PD) either. I think 13-inch Macbook Pro users might run into problems since the standard USB-C power adapter for this device is only 61W. The 15-inch uses an 87W unit. Belkin is only designed to deliver PD at 60W, so the combination may not have enough "power" for a smaller output PSU. My only wish is Displayport over USB-C. available model (or that I looked at the Dell 5200 logic board specs when ordering.) For what it's worth, the HP USB-C G5 Dock works well with Dell, although it's a little untrue. reporting of this review. I didn't have to contact tech support to use this device. It's driverless and pretty much what you see is what you get. And if you need a Thunderbolt 3 dock, this isn't a monster that Caldigit stands for TB3 - not to mention its monstrous price - I think you'll be happy with it.

Pros
  • decent performance
