I use a Big Blue filter product as a pre-filter before a secondary filter under the kitchen counter for water for cooking and drinking. My first use of a pre-filter was removing rust and minerals from a state park water system attached to a municipal water company that was rated Excellent. I also find the pre-filter very valuable as it helps me process more water than usual for a longer period of time without removing the chlorine from the water once the water enters our home storage tank. . I remove the chlorine from the faucet in the kitchen. I require chlorinated water in my fresh water tank even though I keep my fresh water system to the highest standard of maintenance. Only remove the chlorine after you have used the water as the chlorine helps keep the water fresh and clean.
