Review on Samsung BD D5700 Blu Ray Player Black by Youssef Coolidge

I bought this DVD player to use with our old tube TV in the family room. It offers all the wireless connectivity I needed that a 17 year old TV couldn't provide. Wi-Fi reception seems strong given the router's location (which is upstairs and on the opposite side of the house). I can watch YouTube or Hulu with no problems. I can easily access my online digital media including many TV/music/movies and photos. It plays Blu-ray perfectly and I've had no problems with any BR media I've fed it. including BD-Rs). The only limitation I've found is that the default keyboard options for typing in different apps are really hard to use. I was able to switch it to something like a cellphone texting keyboard and it made typing a lot faster. Also, connecting to an old 4:3 tube TV works fine with 4:3 discs and files, but all 16:9 streaming media files are compressed. We upgrade the TV over time, but for now this small, relatively inexpensive set-top box has reinvigorated the family room TV as an entertainment center outside of my den for the kids and my wife to enjoy.
