When I bought the original unit it should have come with this extension but it didn't. At the time I didn't care. After a few uses and a connection point (usually under the dash) I decided to buy it. Without the cable, the wire is only 12 inches long and is usually too limited for your professional task. I was surprised I could get an OEM and it works great. Done better than I thought. You can go to the front of the engine to set everything up and see real-time readings. Maybe I'll buy another one and put it together. Great price and well worth it although it was out when I bought it a long time ago BUT it wasn't part of the original order it was claimed to be 'included' when the item arrived. BUY, BUY, BUY.
