The inner flat bar is so soft it bends with use

The inner metal bar you cut to length is too soft. When the latch stopped working, I opened it and found the bar had been bent by the charge. I tried to bend it back slowly but it broke and turned into junk. and at this point the whole bar has become garbage because I have to replace it entirely. I think running a string through the hole like the pioneers used might help. Less money and more reliable.
