This is a great modem if you want to buy your own. I bought all my own cable modems and routers as TWC/Spectrum gives you junk. I had to pick up their router at least once a month and sometimes weekly. The last time I took one to trade in for a "new" they were all just patched and shipped, it made a rattling noise as I left the TWC store! I took it back and the women who gave it to me said, 'You must have thrown it between the door and your car. It didn't sound like it when I gave it to you! I was mad at TWC as usual, threw it on her desk and said I would buy one. I bought this. It worked fine until we had a power spike or dip and it kept going, just not at full power! Of course the warranty is about two weeks overdue but I gave this 4 stars because you can now get a much better router that is faster and more reliable! TO UPDATE! This modem is a piece of junk! It feels terribly hot and doesn't last long. As I commented in the top reviewer's review, he was absolutely right about the heat issues found with this modem! It gets very hot and can't handle the number of Wi-Fi devices most people currently have. It got so hot I wanted to add two computer fans in a push-pull system on each side of this heat-generating device! I noticed that it got very hot when I had to unplug my Netgear router as it just couldn't handle the newer speeds. It's great and has worked really well for 5 years or more. However, I have bought two different Motorola modems and both have failed. The first was apparently dead. As an electrician, I noticed the smell of burnt electronics and realized the internet was down. As I approached the office, I smelled stronger, but the modem didn't catch fire! It was toast! The one I'm reviewing here probably felt hot right away, but after about 5 months we started having problems with this modem and the internet connection to the devices. I would avoid this modem like the plague! I paid twice as much as I do now but this was the second Motorola router to fail due to overheating issues. I would definitely reconsider buying this or any other Motorola modem. The cable company tried to connect to our router using this modem, but couldn't! The technician got on the phone and told me that 8 channels were burned out! He said I have to buy another one! Cable modems are terrible and I had to return junk about twice a month! They work for minimal applications, but if you have two MacBook Pro laptops, two iPhones, two iPad Pros and a server, a home automation device, Roku, two networked stereo receivers, an Oppo UDP-205, and a WiFi thermostat, you're putting a heavy load on the modem. because multiple devices are constantly connected to the internet. At least 5 or more devices are always connected to the internet. In the end I took a scoop and settled on the Netgear CM700 and it never gets hot even when using multiple devices. He stays incredibly cool! Even if several devices are running at the same time. I connected it to a Netgear Nighthawk X10 router and a Netgear S8000 8 gigabyte port switch. Two are for 4K streaming. It's been running on multiple devices for about a year or more! The router has built-in fans and four channels. It could also be an app controlled by my iPad Pro. This was originally a five star review but it should be better than this! I bet,
